Zoë Rubens
Zoë is continuously intrigued by the politics of life, power and love which is reflected through drawings that evolve into sculptures using a unique melding of ceramics, concrete and steel.
Her work challenges many preconceptions by experimenting with different techniques coupled with her own signature attention to detail giving a depth that is fascinating to revisit time and again.
Zoë gained a 1st class degree in sculpture with honours at Manchester in 1991.
She has worked in Bronze with Lawrence Edwards, printmaking with Barto dos Santos in Portugal.
She had an internship on stonework on Chesil Beach while she lived in the lighthouse at Portland.
She was represented in London by The Curwen and New Academy gallery for nearly 30 years until their closure pre covid. along with many other galleries.
